Rajuk to cut approval time dramatically

Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain has said the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK), the capital’s development authority, will from now on take 60 days for approving any new structures.
“At present Rajuk takes 267 days for approving any new structure but from now it will take only 60 days”, he said while talking to the reporters after a
meeting with Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Kazi M Aminul Islam, held at his office.
The government has undertaken so many projects to speed up the development process and creating an investment-friendly environment, he said. He also promised all out support to ease the investment process to the organisations under his office.
The BIDA Executive Chairman Kazi M Aminul Islam said help desks will be opened in the Rajuk headquarters office and its regional offices. Besides, a number of help desks will be opened at the Chittagong Unnayan Kartripakkha, Khulna Unnayan Kartripakkha and Rajshahi Unnayan Kartripakkha which will help to get approval of structures in time.
A task force committee will monitor the implementation process and renovation works, he said, adding that “An agreement will be signed soon with the Rajuk and BIDA in this regard”.
