Speakers comprising with employees of Dhaka WASA at a discussion meeting on Sunday said that women employees had been playing a significant role alongside male to the development and progress of Dhaka WASA.
To mark the International Women’s Day Dhaka WASA organized a discussion meeting on Women Empowerment’ at its conference room, WASA Bhaban. Managing Director of Dhaka WASA Engr. Taqsem A Khan was present at the occasion as the chief guest while other officials were also present. Mrs Quamrun Naher Laily, Superintendent Engineer of Dhaka WASA and the Project Director of Saidabad Water Treatment Plant Phase-3 chaired the meeting. The Everest conquering first ever Bangladeshi woman and Deputy Chief Accounts Officer of Dhaka WASA Nishat Majumder and other women officials also spoke on the occasion.
Women speakers said that women employees has been playing their due role on their respective position to accelerate the progress of Dhaka WASA. They also said that they had got adequate support and cooperation from their male colleagues. They demanded to the authority to set up a ‘Day Care Centre’ for the kids of women employees’ of Dhaka WASA as soon as possible.
Speaking as the chief guest Engr. Taqsem Khan said that the contribution of women employees for the advancement of Dhaka WASA is inevitable. He assured the women employees of taking required steps to establish a ‘Day Care Centre’ in Dhaka WASA Bhaban. He also said, present government is also women-friendly.
Among others, Deputy Managing Director (Admin) Md Ataur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director (Finance) Syed Golam Ahammad FCMA and Md Abul Kasem, Chief Engineer of Dhaka WASA also spoke on the occasion.
