Bomb attack on cops: Hearing on charge framing against Fakhrul, others Mar 3

Court Correspondent :The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka on Tuesday took cognisance of charges against BNP’s senior leaders Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Barrister Moudud Ahmed and 34 other BNP men on the charge of hurling crude bombs at policemen in March of 2013.Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah of the court passed the order examining the case docket with other relevant documents. Later, the court fixed March 3 to hear on charge framing against the accused. The other accused, include- BNP leaders Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Mirza Abbas, Abdullah Al Noman, Amanullah Aman, Moazzem Hossain Alal, Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annee, Habibunnabi Khan Sohel, Barkatullah Bulu and Sultan Salauddin Tuku.Of the accused, Fakhrul, Moudud, Goyeshwar, Noman, Aman and 25 others are now on bail while Abbas and Annee are in the jail. Four others are on run. Inspector Mohammad Enamul Haque of the Detective Branch of police , who is Investigation Officer of the case, submitted two charge sheets in the CMM Court of Dhaka on May 11 last year.According to the case statement, Fakhrul, Moudud and 24 others along with 1,000 to 1,200 unnamed activists brought out a protest procession in front of Twin Tower in Dhaka’s Shantinagar area on March 2, 2013.At a time, they hurled five crude bombs at policemen and damaged several vehicles, leaving several law enforcers seriously injured. A case was later filed with Paltan Police Station against Fakhrul, Moudud, Goyeshwar, Noman and 22 others for their alleged involvement in the incident.
