Wild elephants damage 200 houses in Rangamati

Wild elephants destroyed more than 200 dwelling houses in Langadu upazila of the district.
Fearing further attacks of wild elephants, many villagers deserted the hamlets of Amtalipara, Mymensinghpara, Boro Math and some other remote places, said victims.
They sought urgent steps to save their lives from the attacks of elephants. Local people said the number of wild elephants have increased manifold in recent times. Police of local police station visited the area. When contacted Deputy Commissioner of Rangamati, Shamsul Arefin said he would send a team there soon to take necessary steps.
