Bangladesh U-18 national women’s football team head coach Golam Rabanni Choton said they aim to play the final of the SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship which is scheduled to be held from September 28 to October 7 in Thimpu, Bhutan.
He was speaking at a pre-departure press conference on Thursday at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House.
“We are going to take part in the championship for the first time and we want to make it memorable by playing good football. Our main aim is to play the SAFF final,” Choton said to the reporters.
He said: “The team has been practicing for a long time and I think the team has great combination with U-16 and U-18 players, who played a lot of international matches … I hope they will be able to bring good results in the tournament.”
Team skipper Moushumi Akter also echoed her coach’s statement as she said they want to play the SAFF final.
She said they have been undergoing training for a long time and doing hard work for the tournament and hoped to play in the final.
“Obviously I am feeling pressure being a captain of the team… but I will try my level best to give my team inside the ground as well as to try to fight to take the team to the final, she said to a questioner.
Vice Team’s vice captain Maria Manda said their aim is to play final of the championship and hoped to bring a good result for the nation.
BFF women’s wing chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron said the team has been practicing for a long time and I think the team has done enough practice and hope they will fight for the championship.
