Court Correspondent :Dhaka’s Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court yesterday (Tuesday) passed warrant order against BNP vice-chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka and eight others in a case filed under the Explosive Substances Act.Judge Md Jahurul Haque of the court passed order after taking cognizance of the charge sheet of the case filed on charge of exploding bombs in front of the gate of the Election Commission Secretariat at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital. The court fixed February 11 for submission of the report on the compliance of the arrest warrant.Court sources said, Khoka, also former mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation, and eight BNP activists did not appear in the court during hearing on Tuesday.On October 27, 2013, Sub-Inspector Raju Ahmed of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station filed the case against 13 named and12 unnamed BNP leaders and activists for allegedly exploding bombs with a motive to kill the EC officers and employees on the day.The case statement says that the bomb attack was carried out by the order of Khoka, Jubo Dal President Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and its General Secretary Saiful Alam Nirob.SI Mashiur Rahman of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station and also the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case submitted charge sheet against 23 BNP men to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on last April 7.
