The local electronic company ‘Walton’ has been working on making skilled and experienced engineers and technicians in the country’s electronics and electrical products’ manufacturing industry through rendering high-standard training, said a press release on Thursday.
From the inception of Walton Service Management System (WSMS) in 2000, highest standard trainings, including IT and empirical, are provided each year to a large number of unskilled, semi-skilled and diploma engineers and technicians.
A good number of people, who were unemployed and unskilled in vocational education, have already turned into skilled ones by taking adequate trainings from the WSMS. Most of them are now managing jobs at home and abroad, the press release said.
The WSMS officials said, they are providing higher trainings of different tenure to four levels of people, including BSc engineers, interns from different public and private polytechnic institutes and fully unskilled youths.
Every year, hundreds of diploma engineers are getting both practical and institutional work experience through taking part in a 3-month internship programme (from August to November) at WSMS, he added.
“The internship certificate provided by the WSMS is helping the interns in getting handsome jobs at home and abroad.”
According to the press release, in 2014 and 2015, a total of 110 and 194 diploma engineers from different polytechnic institutions respectively received higher trainings by interning at WSMS. This year, Walton received more than 500 diploma engineers applied for getting chance in its internship programme, of them 320 are selected, they said.
Walton Group’s Additional Director and WSMS head Neamul Haque said that there is a bright future of the country’s electronics and electrical products’ manufacturing industry. Every year, the demands for fridge, air conditioner, LED television, mobile phone and home appliances are surging on, he said.
