Vitamin A plus campaign would be conducted on July 14 across the country including the capital Dhaka. Children aged by six months to 59 months would be feed vitamin A plus capsule on the day.
A views exchange meeting was held in Nagar Bhaban of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) informed this.
DSCC Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Dr. Sheikh Salahuddin presided over the programme.
Samir Kumar Sarker, Director of Institution of People’s Health Nutrition, Civil Surgeon Dr. Ehsanul Karim and DSCC Health Officer Dr. Zakir Alam, among others, spoke in the programme.
The meeting informed that around 45,292 children aged by six to 11 months would be feed 1 lakh IU vitamin A plus capsule which is blue colour in DSCC areas on July 14.
Besides, around 3,11,825 children aged by 12 to 59 months would be feed 2 lakh IU vitamin A plus capsule which is red colour in the same area.
The campaign will start at 8 am and will end in 4pm in 1,487 centres. 2,974 volunteers and 112 supervisors will work in the programme.
The speakers called upon all parents and guardians to feed Vitamin A plus capsule to their children to eliminate blindness and child death from the country.
