A visit to a Sudanese refugee camp in Kenya had a huge impact on actress Reese Witherspoon and her teenage daughter Ava.
Witherspoon took her 15-year-old daughter to the area to research her new movie ‘Inherent Vice.’
She has said that watching 250,000 people displaced, sleeping on concrete slabs, and kids who were unwell, was a ‘very emotional’ experience. However, she didn’t regret putting her daughter through this experience.
“Ava didn’t say a word the whole day. I think it’s going to affect her for a long time, as it will (to) me,” Witherspoon said.
She feels technology disconnects young minds from life, and travel is the only way to change that.
