Poultry scientists and researchers at a discussion here have unequivocally called for promoting bio-safety measures in poultry farming for producing safe poultry meat.
They also mentioned substantial and sustainable promotion of bio-safety measures can be the vial means of curtailing the dependence on antibiotics in poultry sector.
They came up with the observation while addressing a view-sharing meeting with poultry farmers in MRK College Hall Room under Paba Upazila in the district on Thursday.
Consumer Association of Bangladesh (CAB) organized the workshop in association with an issue-based project titled “Food Safety Governance in Poultry Sector in Bangladesh” and UKaid and British Council”.
Chaired by CAB Field Coordinator Mijanur Rahman, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Khandaker Sagar Ahmed and field coordinators of the project agriculturists Mohidul Islam and Mozammel Haque as resource persons.
