Violent storms hit 4 dists

Nor’wester lashed Pabna, Bhola, Kushtia and Natore districts on Thursday night, leaving an unspecified number of people injured and dwelling houses and standing crops damaged.
In Pabna, the storm swept over Sadar and Ishwardi upazilas injuring 30 people and damaging over 500 houses and standing crops.
The storm-hit areas are Sahapur, Pakshi, Chhalimpur, Sara and Dashuria in Ishwardi upazila and Bharara, Kutuli Charbhabanipur, Madhupur, Raninagar, Char Machpara and Dohachi in Sadar upazila.
A boatman went missing in a river during the storm which hit the upazila on Thursday night and in the early hours of Friday.
In Bhola, the storm struck remote Rajapur union in Sadar upazila damaging over 20 houses and crop fields.
During the storm, a 10-year-old girl, Rahima, was injured in a house-collapse.
Besides, a trawler, loaded with 24 maund paddy, sank in the Meghna River near Ramsadpur ghat as it was caught by a violent storm. However, there was no casualty in the incident.
In Natore, dwelling houses, mango orchards and crops on vast tracts of lands were damaged during the storm that lashed Bagatipara upazila.
The storm-hit areas are Majhipara, Sajipara, Kutipara, Ghospara and Paschimpara.
The stormed also uprooted a number of trees and electric poles disrupting electricity supply to the upazila.
