Campaign strategy: AL highlights dev work and BNP’s misdeeds in last tense

Awami League started its election campaign from Monday after Election Commission’s distribution of party symbols on Sunday.
As part of the campaign, Prime Minister and AL President Sheikh Hasina will address the election rally on the Sheikh Lutfor Rahman Model Government College premises in Kotalipara upazila of Gopalganj district on Wednesday.
AL sources said the party has taken the strategy to highlight its massive development success in the country in last 10 years.
The party high command has given directives to its candidates to refer to all of its development work like the starting of Padma Bridge, the other mega projects including flyovers and Metro rail and elevated express way projects to the voters during the campaigns. They have to especially refer to their respective areas development work over last one decade.
Senior leaders of the party said, their candidates should exposes BNP’s misdeeds in the party’s (BNP’s) last tenure ended in 2007.
The AL candidates are referring to BNP’s corruptions especially on Zia Orphanage trust and Zia Charitable trust corruption issues.
They would also state BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s misdeeds done during his party’s last tenure sitting in his political office Hawa Bhaban.
Awami League candidates and leaders are also referring to the BNP’s abortive movement in 2014 and 2015 and its arson attack on public transports which caused number of death.
The party candidates already have started their campaigns in their respective constituencies across the country.
When contacted, AL Presidium Member Dr. Abdur Razzak told The New Nation on Tuesday, “We will carry the signs of our huge development work in every corner in the country.”
“We can challenge that no other party in Bangladesh did what we achieved. Our party chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has a vision to build a poverty free Bangladesh,” he said.
“As part of the plan, she has started ‘one home one farm’ and various programme. We are asking the voters to vote for boat to continue the development spree,” Abdur Razzak said.
Senior Awami League leaders said that they also refer to the Prime Minister’s vision to build ‘Digital Bangladesh’ through developing ICT and high-tech with various initiatives.
They also expose the government’s extending hands to the Rohiynga refugees fled in Bangladesh from Myanmar and successful management of them.
They also have to expose the government’s successful initiatives in abroad in various fields.
