Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Dhaka (South) collected a record Tk 5573 crore revenue in fiscal year 2017-18 (FY18), up 19 percent from the amount collected in fiscal year 2016-17 (FY17). In FY17 the commissionerate collected Tk 4,716 crore.
“Regular monitoring and auditing has helped boost the revenue collection. We’ve also been able to realize arrears from some organizations and some new areas have also been brought under this commissionerate,” said commissioner Kazi Mostafizur Rahman.
