Statement and counter statement over the matter of bacteria in CWASA supply line water in Halishahar area in the city are appearing in print and electronic medias every day.
In a press conference of the civil surgeon of Chattagram Dr.Azizur Rahman said jaundice bacteria detected in the WASA supply water but on the other hand Managing Director of CWASA Engr Fazlullah refuted the blame of the civil surgeon. In the press meet on Wednesday last told that if this epidemic nature of water borne diseases are not controlled immediately , the water borne diseases like jaundice, hepatitis e-virus , Hbs etc will spread in the city rapidly which will go beyond control. Civil surgeon called upon the WASA authority to visit the jaundice affected areas of Halishahar and talk with the locals for next course of action.
He also suggested to deploy mobile court in the areas for finding the any lapse in storing the supply water by the beneficiaries. The press meet was told that about 396 jaundice patients so far admitted in govt and private hospitals till Wednesday.
Meanwhile the city corporation constituted two probe committee to find out the real picture of the affected persons and solutions thereby.
