Tight security at HSIA: US deports 40 more illegal BD migrants

A total of 40 illegal Bangladeshi migrants were scheduled to return home on Wednesday night, according to airport sources.
Airport sources said a special chartered flight carrying the Bangladeshi nationals is likely to land at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at about 10 pm yesterday along with 13 US security personnel.
Meanwhile, the home ministry asked the airport authority as well as the members of law enforcement agencies to provide all out security to the US security personnel during their short stay over at the airport.
On December 1, US government in a letter informed the Bangladesh foreign and home ministries that they would deport the 40 illegal migrants on December 7.
After verifying and checking the papers and documents, the US government identified the Bangladeshi migrants as illegal.
Later the Home Ministry in a letter asked the Additional Inspector General (Special Branch) to provide security to 40 illegal migrants and US security personnel and cooperate with them.
After handing over the illegal migrants to Bangladesh authority, the US security personnel were also scheduled to leave Dhaka for Beijing on the same night.
Earlier, on April 1, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said the US would send back some Bangladeshi migrants from there in phases as the US court declared them illegal following legal procedures.
On April 6 a total of 27 illegal Bangladeshi migrants were deported by the USA.
