A member of a union parishad sustained bomb injury when a gang of miscreants threw hand bombs on him on Tuesday night. The injured was identified as Atiqur Rahman, a member of Maharajpur union parishad and the son of Siddiqur Rahman of Keshabpur village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila. The bomb throwing bincident created panic among the people of the market.
Locals said, Atiqur was standing on Jhenaidah-Jesssore highway near a business centre at Bishoykhali Bazer. At about 7.30 PM, a gang of miscreants on a motorbike arrived there and threw three bombs on him and left the scene immediately.
The business establishments in the market were shut instantly.Later the locals rushed him to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital.
Jhenaidah police station officer in charge Hasan Hafizurt Rahman admitted the incident and said, no case was ffiled till filing of this report
