UNB, Brahmanbaria :
A court here on Wednesday placed Atiqur Rahman Ankhi, Haripur Union Parishad chairman and also the prime accused in a case filed over the attack on Hindu community in Nasirnagar upazila, on a two-day fresh remand.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Shafiqul Islam passed the order when police produced him before the court with a five-day remand prayer, said Ishtiaq Ahmed, sub-inspector of Nasirnagar Police Station.
Earlier, a court placed Ankhi on a 5-day remand in the case on January 8.

On October 30, some unruly people demolished 15 Hindu temples and vandalised over 100 houses in the upazila following a Facebook post that allegedly hurt the religious sentiment of the Muslim community.
Later, two cases were filed against 2,400 unidentified people in this connection. However, Ankhi went into hiding after the incident.
