United efforts to continue dev spree underscored

State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Md Masiur Rahman Ranga on Saturday urged all to work together to continue the ongoing development activities in the country.
“The country has witnessed massive developments under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the last nine years. Bangladesh is now a developing country and we should continue the development process,” he said, speaking at a seminar at CIRDUP auditorium here.
Bangladesh Academy of Rural Development (BARD), Comilla, and Rural Development Academy (RDA) jointly organized the seminar titled “Bangladesh in Development Phase: Expectation, Achievement and Potentiality” with Rural Development and Cooperatives Division Additional Secretary N Siddiqua Khanam in the chair.
RDA Director General M Matin, BARD Director General Dr M Mizanur Rahman and Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) Director General Mowdudur Rashid Safdar, among others, addressed the seminar while BARD Director Md Mizanur Rahman and RDA Director Md Nazrul Islam Khan present key-note papers.
Urging all to work in unison, Ranga said Bangladesh would become a middle income country by 2021 and a developed nation by 2041.
BARD Director General Mizanur said since its establishment, about 2.70 lakh people received training in BARD (till February). Of them, around 36 percent are women.
He said there is no alternative to education and training.
