Dhaka United Club and Friends Social Welfare Organization have been fined Taka fifty thousand each for match-fixing in the Saif Power Tec Dhaka Metropolis Senior Division Football League, which concluded recently. Besides, Captain of Dhaka United Club Mashiul Kabir Bappi and goalkeeper Nur Alam Ali have been banned for two years from any kind of football competition. Defennder Dewan Md Jewel of Dhaka United Club has been banned for one year from any kind of football competition.
Dhaka United Club and Friends Social Welfare Organization have been relegated from Senior Division Football League to Second Division Football League.
Chairman of Dhaka Metropolis Football League Committee Harunur Rashid announced those decisions at a press conference at the conference room of Dhaka Metropolis Football League Committee Office in Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
Harunur Rashid said, ” To play pre-fixing match is a dangerous thing. Dhaka United Club and Friends Social Welfare Organization played pre-fixing match on May 21. According to by-laws we have taken this decision. “
He said, ” We have punished them as per by-laws. Hoping that Bangladesh Football Federation will give more punishment against those persons, who were engaged in pre-fixing match.”
