Kotwali Thana police recovered the body of an unidentified man from a drain near Mymensingh Polytechnic Institute in the town on Sunday.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Thana Quamrul Islam said local people saw the body floating in the drain nearby Polytechnic Institute at about 9 am and informed it to police. Police said the victim is aged around 45.
On receiving information police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
The body was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for postmortem.
A case was filed with Kotwali Police Station in this connection.
