2ndBangladesh Fashionology Summit held to unleash new era in fashion

The 2nd Bangladesh Fashionology Summit held at the International Convention City Bashundhara, Dhaka, on Friday with the aim to firm the footings of Bangladesh to fetch its share in the global 130 billion dollars market of smart apparel by 2025, says a press release.
The summit being brought together under one roof most inspiring and innovative thinkers from across the globe to initiate the much-needed conversations around technology, digitalization and innovation.
The summit was organized by Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE) with the theme ‘Digitalization – the Next Destination’.
“The recent increase of wages and the cost of production have made it inevitable for the apparel manufacturers of the country to concentrate on value added products. The 130 billion dollars smart clothing market is an area we need to focus on to survive and thrive” said Mr. Mostafiz Uddin, Founder and CEO of Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE).
“The shift from producing basic to smart clothing will not be so easy and it has to be done gradually with proper planning and preparation. The objective of Bangladesh Fashionololgy Summit is to facilitate the shift” said Mr. Mohiuddin Rubel, Managing Director of Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE).
A total of 41 speakers from 13 countries spoke at the five sessions of the summit.
The summit also presented a unique platform for start-ups to demonstrate their cutting edge innovation in fashion.

An exclusive “Digital Tech Fashion Runway Show” organized in the Summit where smart wearable by world’s renowned fashion tech designers were showcased on ramp.
Moreover, a Tech innovation Zone set up in the Summit that displayed latest technologies and innovation in fashion.
