A fire broke out in a tyre factory at Posta in the city’s Lalbagh area on Saturday morning.
Masudur Rahman, assistant director (Dhaka Division) of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the fire originated from an electric short circuit on the 5th floor of Gazi Tower in the area around 11: 20am and soon engulfed the entire floor.
On information, six firefighting units rushed to the spot and put out the flame around 12:10pm.
A man sustained injuries in the incident.
