A young man was shot dead by some miscreants over establishing supremacy in Bhujpur area of Fatikchhari upazila in the district on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahim Badsha, 25, son of Mominul Haque from Bhujpur area.

said Badsha had been at loggerhead with Tapan, a supporter of United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF), over establishing supremacy in the area.
A gang of miscreants fired gunshots on Badsha at Baraitoli at night, leaving him dead on the spot, he said adding that he might have been killed following the enmity.
Additional Police Superintendent of Hathazari Circle Abdullah Al Masum said the body was sent to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Deceased Badsha was accused in a number of cases, he said.
