Two lawyers testified yesterday in the case filed with Bangladesh Cyber Tribunal against Sogazi Police Station’s former OC Moazzem Hossain under the Digital Security Act.
The two witness lawyers are- advocate Sabir Nandi Das and lawyer assistant Gobinda Chandra Deb. Judge Mohammad As-Shams Jaglul Hossain of the tribunal recorded the depositions of the witnesses in the case filed against Moazzem in connection with the murder of Feni’s Madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi.
Later, the judge fixed September 11 to record the depositions of more witnesses in the case.
On April 6, Nusrat, 18, was set afire at an examination centre of Alim examination allegedly by students loyal to Principal Siraj Ud Doula of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa after he was arrested and subsequently suspended as Nusrat had accused him of sexually harassing her.
After fighting for her life for five days, Nusrat succumbed to the injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital on the night of April 10, five days after the heinous incident.
