Stuart Broad received a 15 per cent fine after the fourth Test against South Africa in Johannesburg for “use of an audible obscenity during an International Match”. The pacer also bagged one demerit point for his verbal battle with Faf du Plessis.
Just before the South Africa captain was dismissed, he had a heated exchange with Broad. Broad now has two demerit points as it was his second offence in the last 24 months. Umpires Rod Tucker and Joel Wilson, Bruce Oxenford and Allahdien Palekar levelled the charges.
England won the series 3-1 but the four matches were marred with plenty of outbursts. Jos Buttler too received a fine for his jibe at Vernon Philander. The South Africa pacer too then was reprimanded for his send-off to Buttler.
