Two kids missing in Habiganj

Twenty days into the abduction of two kids of sadar Upazila under Sylhet district still remained traceless after abducting and killing as police recovered the bodies of four children, aged between seven and ten, from a ditch at Shundratiki village under Bahubol upazila of the Habiganj district 17th February morning, five days after they went missing. Victim’s families filed GD entry in Habiganj police station.
The victims were Md Saifur Rahman Ananda, 12, son of Jamir Ali in Nishapat village under Sayestaganj police station. He was a student of class of Sultansi Hafizia Madrasa. Another was Tayen Miah, 13, son of Kashem Miah in Rajnagor village under sadar Upazila of Habiganj District. He was a student of Anwar Modina Madrasa near the house.
On 16th February, Ananda was abducted by a gang, allegedly when he was back from shop near the house in same village afternoon. 17th February, Tayen missing when he was back from Madrasa.
Police said, the gang then demanded Tk 5 lakh ransom from his family over mobile phone, said police.If they weren’t not sent this money immediately criminals kill the kids. While victim send this money a man abductor collected, then police caught him. He is identified as Alauddin,22.
Following a case filed by the family members, Jamir Ali, father of the victim, blamed police for not rescuing Ananda yet.
Contacted, Nazim Uddin, officer-in-charge in Habiganj Police station confirmed the matter to The New Nation. He said, we arrested an abductor but we didn’t recover any clue. I try my best, he added.
