IU observes Nat’l Mourning Day

The authorities of Islamic University observed National Mourning Day and 41st martyrdom anniversary of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on the university campus on Monday with due respect and befitting manner.
Marking the day, the university Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr M Shahinoor Rahman hoisted the national flag at half-mast while Acting Registrar of the university SM Abdul Latif hoisted the black flag in front of the university administration building around 9.30am.
Later, a procession was brought out from the administrative building led by the university pro-vice chancellor around 10am. The procession ended at the same place after paraded the main streets on the campus.
IUTA former president Prof. Dr Abul Ahsan Chowdhury, former secretary Prof. Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, Bangabandhu Parishad founder member Prof. Dr ANM Rezaul Karim, a section of pro-AL teachers alliances’ affiliated with Shapla Forum president Prof. Kamal Uddin and its secretary Prof. Selim Toha, among others, took part in the procession.
A short film exhibition on the founder of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was shown at the university central auditorium around 11am.
