Turkey keen to work for dev of SME sector in Bangladesh

Turkey has expressed interest to work for the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Bangladesh.
“Turkey is interested in working for the development of SMEs in Bangladesh. Turkey has a long experience in the SME industry. By using this experience, the industrialists of both the countries can benefit,” said Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan recently while meeting with Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun through online, said a press release.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues of mutual interest, including Turkish investment in Bangladesh’s emerging industries, development of quality infrastructure, exchange of business delegation visits between the two countries, identification of areas for bilateral communication and cooperation between SME entrepreneurs on digital platforms.
Referring to the historically friendly relations with Bangladesh, Turkish Ambassador said that Turkey, as a Muslim brotherly country, is interested in strengthening socio-economic relations with Bangladesh.
Referring to the fast-growing economies of the two countries, he said the proper utilization of existing potential in the industrial sector could contribute to mutual economic prosperity.
He emphasized the importance of exchanging visits of trade delegations between the two countries.
In order to harness the potential of small and medium enterprises in the Corona situation, he emphasized on organizing focused meetings by identifying match-making events and priority sectors on digital platforms.
Humayun informed the Ambassador that necessary steps would be taken in this regard through the SME Foundation.
He noted that the Ministry of Industry would extend all possible assistance to Turkey in implementing any positive proposal for the development of the SME sector.
