A housewife was killed when a tree collapsed on her house during a storm that swept different villages in Gurudaspur and sadar upazilas on Monday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Shilpi Begum, wife of Abdus Sattar of Bagrum village in sadar upazila.
Witnesses said a tree collapsed on the house of Sattar as a storm ripped through several villages, including Bagrum village, at midnight, leaving his wife Shipli dead on the spot. Over 200 houses were damaged and a number of trees uprooted during the storm.
