The traffic movement on Chitagong -Coxsbazar highway at Karnphuli bridge area under Bakalia thana in city was suspended for two hours yesterday morning from 7 am centring the altercations between the locals and the transport workers.
Eye witnesses sources said following the clash between the transport workers of Unique Serive and S Alam service and the local mastans centring the extortions, the transport workers siege road for about 2 hours. Following the interventionof the police and administration, the siege withdrawan at about 9 am.
While contacted the officer incharge of Bakalia thana Abul Mansur told that following the altercations and scuffle in between the transport workers and locals, the unwanted incident occurred and later solved the problems, he added.
