Trade bodies fail to fulfill hopes of business community

Chittagong Bureau :The business leaders of the port city alleged that the trade bodies of the country could not fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the community through expansion of trade. The business leaders at a function at Hall-24 in city on Saturday night said they did not find any dynamism of the trade bodies and could not reach the goal of the business promotion. The function was arranged in the port city aimed at projections of the probable candidates in the next FBCCI election schedule to be held on May 23 next . President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce Mahbubul Alam presided the function while the panel leader of the Business Development Board Abdul Matlub Ahmed was present as Chief Guest. Former first vice president of BGMEA Nasiruddin chowdhury, General secretary of Khatungonj Trade & Industries Association Syed Sagir Ahmed, vice president of Frozen foods Association Golam Mustafa spoke on the occasion among others. Chief Guest Matlub Ahmed ensures for every cooperation of the Chittagong business community and their every demands will be fulfilled including gas and land. He said he has taken two years leave from his own organization to render services to the business community and all members is the board will work unitedly for the welfare of the business community. To the questions of some members in the function about non-appearance of the leaders after election, he said I will be at your door when you call me during two years of tenure. Meanwhile newly elected city Mayor AJM Nasiruddin alongwith lawmaker MA Latif attended the function at midterm of the meeting and Mayor was received by the business leaders by presenting bouquets . Mayor also reiterated his commitment to work for the better outputs of the business in the port city and ensures to build business friendly port city in coming days. Among others, lawmaker Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury, Deputy panel leader of FBCCI election Md. Helaluddin, Habibullah Khan of Barvida were present in it.
