Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmood said the government has undertaken a project with Taka 1,405.69 crore for rehabilitation of embankments and re-excavation of rivers/khals across the country.
“The government has a plan for excavation/re-excavation of 3,000 kms khals and repair/rehabilitation of 5,850 kms embankments under the project,” he said this on Wednesday while replying to a question from treasury bench member Morshed Alam in the House.
