Three persons were killed and one was injured in a road accident near the Kanchi Bihra Bridge on the
Cumilla-Noakhali highway in the anoharganj upazila of the district on tuesday morning.
The deceased have been dentified as Ruhul Amin, 65, his wife Selina Akhter, 45, and college student Simuna Akhter, 20, residents of Saikchlie village of the upazila.
The accident took place when a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Ekushey Paribahan’ slammed a battery-run auto-rickshaw at around 10.30 am, leaving three auto-rickshaw passengers dead on the spot and one injured, said its driver Zafar Iqbal, in-charge of Natherpetua police outpost.
The injured was taken to a local hospital.
