The New Nation will face The Independent in their first match of the Summit-DRU Media Cup Cricket at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium today. The match starts at 10.30 am.
Dhaka Reporters Unity has arranged the cricket competition, while Summit Group is the title sponsor of the meet.
Regarding the forthcoming tournament, a press conference was held at the Sagar-Runi Auditorium in Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Saturday.
Vice-President of DRU Shariful Islam, General Secretary Raju Ahmed, Sports Secretary Mojibur Rahman, Member Secretary of the Sub-Committee of Sports Aminul Haque Mallick, Head of Public Relations and Media Department of Summit Group Smasuddin Haider Dalim, Assistant Manager of Teletalk SM Musanna Habib, Public Relations Officer of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited Masum Mizan were present at the conference.
State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu will inaugurate the cricket meet as the chief guest.
A number of 48 print, electronic, online media houses will participate on knock out basis tournament.
The champions will be awarded Taka fifty thousand, the runners-up will be given Taka thirty thousand, the other two semi-finalists team will get Taka ten thousand each.
The Man of the Tournament will be given Taka five thousand.
