Ten injured in RMCH fire incident

Ten injured as fire broke out in Rangpur Medical College Hospital [RMCH] on Thursday morning around 11.30 am.
According to the RMCH and Fire service sources an air condition machine blasted as fire broke out at medicine department head Dr Debendranath’s room in the second floor at ward no-3 of the hospital. Fire spreaded in an around the room. Panic seized the people of the ward. Patients, nurses and the attendants rushed to get down from the floor in which ten injured. Some of the injured were – Attendants -Sajan Miah, Laila Begum, Momena Begum, Patients- Abu Jafor, Enamul Haque.
On information, three teams of Fire service reached the spot and extinguished the fire after half an hour effort.
Deputy Director, Rangpur Fire Service, Asadur Rhaman said, the air-condition machine due to electric short circuit.  
Director, RMCH, Dr ASM Borkutullah said, the fire broke out due short circuit of electricity. We however formed a committee to look into the matter.
