Judge's Court attacked: Ten including journo injured

At least nine court employees and a journalist were injured when a group of lawyers, on the third day of their agitation, attacked the District and Sessions Judge Court and ransacked two administrative rooms on Tuesday for stopping illegal construction of a building.
During the attack, the lawyers damaged the windowpanes of the rooms, including the
Additional Sessions Judge’s courtroom. Although police personnel were present during the attack, they were seen inactive.
Court sources said, the District Bar Association recently started construction of a five storied building in the name of ‘Bangabandhu Bhaban’ on a land owned by the court without permission from the government.
Later, Chief Judicial Magistrate issued an order to the Bar Association to stop the construction works but the association continued the construction violating the court order.
Centering the issue, the lawyers have been boycotting the District Sessions Judge’s Court for the last three days since Sunday.
Witnesses said, members of the Bar Association brought out a precession in the morning and attacked the court, leaving the ten people injured.
Hundreds of justice-seeking people in the court area were seen running in penic during the incident.
Earlier, an executive magistrate was also physically assaulted by the lawyers when he went to the construction site and ordered them not to construct the building. A government official was also injured during the time.
