‘Tech vital for establishing knowledge-based society’

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP said there is no alternative to technology for building knowledge-based society.
He said the present government has been implementing various need-based projects one after another keeping importance on technological education.
The State Minister said this on Sunday while addressing a meeting marking the inauguration of an ICT Club for Freelancer at Regional Scout Training Centre in Rajshahi as the chief guest. The club was established under ‘Learning and Earning Development Project (LEDP)’.
Zunaid Ahmed said the youths will lead the digital Bangladesh in future. The present government with dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to transform the young generation into knowledgeable leadership.
He told the meeting that 28 hi-tech parks are being built in the country. Rajshahi Sheikh Mujib Hi-tech Park is being built on 31 acres of land with an estimated cost of
Taka 231 crore to make Rajshahi as the city of technology. More than 14,000 unemployed youths both male and female will get job.
The State Minister also stressed the need for establishing a non-communal and progressive society for sustainable development. “We have to combat militancy and terrorism through correlating the progressive with technology,” he asserted.
With Prof Abul Kalam Azad, Chairman of Rajshahi Education Board, in the chair, Additional Divisional Commissioner Aminul Islam, Deputy Commissioner Helal Mahmud Sharif and LEDP Director Mirja Ali Ashraf also spoke on the occasion.
