Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid called upon teachers to perform better in classrooms instead of coaching centres as the government is providing all necessary facilities to make classrooms vibrant and learning-friendly for students.
“We have trained teachers for enhancing their efficiency by increasing different facilities …. So they (teachers) must perform better in classrooms,” he said this on Sunday while speaking at a function of Govt Shaheed Suhrawardi College in the city.
Kazi Firoz Rashid, MP, among others, addressed the function with Principal Prof Sheikh Abdul Quddus in the chair, an official release said.
Nahid urged the guardians not to send their children into coaching centres and raise their voices against such unfair practices of a section of teachers.
“We will no longer allow unfair practices of those teachers who are trapping students to get education in coaching centres. If we get support and cooperation of guardians, we would be able to eradicate coaching trading of dishonest teachers,” he added.
