A court here on Wednesday framed charges against 14 people, including Awami League lawmaker from Tangail-3 constituency Amanur Rahman Khan Rana, in freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed murder case.
Abul Mansur Ahmed, judge of Tangail Additional Metropolitan and Session Court-1, framed charges after a long hearing from both the sides.
Earlier, the court deferred the charge framing eight times as MP Rana, now in Kashimpur jail, didn’t appear before the court on health grounds.
On August 23, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) directed the authorities concerned to ensure the appearance of Amanur Rahman Khan Rana at the lower court during the hearing on the murder case.
On April 13, an HC bench granted bail to MP Rana in the case.
