Limited seats: Sylhet HSC students to face uncertainty for higher education

Those who passed the HSC examination in Sylhet are facing problem for higher study. Acute shortage of seats in university and medical college is the main reason of it paarticularly those wants to admit in honours course.
 Number of passed students is 4 times more than the existing seats. Although all seats are not reaserved for the students of Sylhet. Not only public versity or medical, this problem is also in National University honours courses.
In Sylhet public, private university, medical College and afflicated colleges under N.U have 11,000 seats in honours. Number of passed HSC are 19,348.
In Sylhet at present in 6 medical and dental college number of seats are 740, 2 Public University has 1958, Engineering college 180, NU has 5655 seats under 10 colleges, 4 Private University has about 3000 seats of them, Osmani Medical has 205, Ragib-Rabeya Medical has 190, North-East Medical 130, Womens Medical 115, Parkview Medical 60, Al-Amin Dental has 40 seats. In SUST A unit has 613 seats in 9 subjects and B unit has 895 seats in 19 subjects. Agriculture has 450 and Engineering versity has 180 seats in 3 subjects.
Leading University has about 1000, Metropolitan University 800, International University 700 and North-East University has 500 seats. Total number of GPA-5 from 10 education board is about 58,000. They are able to apply any University. From that point of view result in Sylhet Board is worse, hence it will affect the admission process.
