Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali urged affluent people alongside organizations to patronize Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) so it could extend more services to humanity with enhanced capacity.
“The affluent societies , benevolent individuals and organisations should to be part of different programmes and projects run by the BDRCS extending their helping hand to serve the cause of humanity,” the minister said this on Monday while speaking at the closing ceremony of a two-day BDRCS partnership meeting held at Sonargaon hotel in the city.
Since its inception, the minister said, BDRCS was trying its best to reduce sufferings of the country’s most vulnerable, needy and marginalised people through a number of initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the fundamental principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (RCRC) movement.
Ali also appreciated the BDRCS role in supplementing government initiatives in supporting the vulnerable people particularly at times of natural calamities.
