Municipality mayoral candidates’ pledge for corruption-free administration

In separate public-facing programmes, all the seven mayoral candidates for the upcoming election in Keshorehat Pourasava under Mohanpur Upazila and Tanore Pourasava in the district have pledged that they will work for building corruption-free pourasava administration if they were elected.
They also promised that they will put in their best efforts for making their respective administration developed besides improving living and livelihood condition of their voters through need-oriented projects.
Coming to a single stage, four mayoral candidates in Keshorehat Pourasava, Shahiduzzaman (Boat), Alauddin Ali (Paddy Sheaf), Joynal Abedeen (Plough) and Hafizur Rahman (Jug), while three candidates for Tanore Pourasava, Imrul Haque (Boat), Mijanur Rahman (Paddy Sheaf) and Abul Hasant Mukhlesur Rahman (Coconut Tree), sought votes in favour of their respective symbol.
Local unit of Sushasoner Jonya Nagorik (SUJAN) organized the events in association with Peoples against Violence and Peace Pressure Group at Keshorhat High School and Tanore Akra High School Playgrounds respectively ahead of the election yesterday. Began with reciting of National Anthem, hundreds of enthusiastic people irrespective of men, women and youths joined the programmes and raised volley of questions relating to their existing suffering and their development to the mayor aspirants in the local government elections.
In response, the candidates made their commitment that they will work for transforming their respective bodies into corruption-free, effective and welfare-oriented ones alongside ensuring transparency and accountability in every sector.
