Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will start afresh in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with his newly found team Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The marquee all-rounder has been sold to Hyderabad for RS two crore.
This year’s auction contains a magnanimous number of 578 cricketers with 36 marquee listed players– 13 of them are Indians and rest of the international cricketers.
The star all-rounder, who played for the Koltaka Knight Riders in the last seven editions, was up for grab during the second round of the bidding with a base price of Rupees one crore. In the bidding Royal Challengers Bangalore also showed their interest to recruit Shakib.
The most shocking part of the first phase of the auction was sheer disinterest of franchises upon one of the greatest T20 batsman on earth Christopher Henry Gayle. No team bid for the Caribbean maestro and he was left unsold.
English all-rounder Ben Stokes, despite patched up with controversies, once again, hit the rocks of IPL auction, he sold to Rajasthan Royals for RS 12.50 crore.
After competitive bidding between Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders, Australian fiery pacer Mitchell Starc was purchased by the Knight Riders for a whooping RS 9.40 crore.
Spending RS 7.60 crore, Kings XI Punjab roped in one of the Indian marquees Ravichandran Ashwin and Mumbai Indians kept Kieron Pollard showing the ready to match card.
For RS 6.40 crore, Chennai Super Kings retained Dwayne Bravo. Delhi Daredevils will beg the new IPL season taking Gautam Gambhir for RS 2.80 crore.
After 10 years of the IPL, all franchises left their sets of cricketers for auction for the 11th edition of the money-spinning tournament.
