Sugar price go up by Tk 5 per kg

Coarse rice’s price fell by Tk two per kg, but sugar (loose) rose by Tk five at the weekend on Friday in the city’s kitchen markets.
Prices of some early summer vegetables also witnessed a downward trend. As for example, pointed gourd was selling at Tk 45 to 55, snake gourd at Tk 45 to 50, okra at Tk 60 and moringa oleifera (sajna data) at Tk100 to 120 per kg.
Of vegetables, potato was selling at Tk 18 per kg, tomato at Tk 40, bean at 40, brinjal at Tk 35 to 40, green chilli at Tk 60, french at Tk 50 to 60, carrot at Tk 20 to 25 kg, bitter gourd at Tk 35 to Tk 40, moringa oleifera (sajna data) at Tk 60 to Tk 70, cucumber at Tk 30 to 35, spone gourd at Tk 45 to 50, arum at 45 to 50, papaya at Tk 20, pumpkin (medium size) at Tk 30 to 45 per piece, broccoli at 25 to 40, cauliflower at Tk 20 to piece, cabbage at 20 to 30, bottle gourd at Tk 30 to 40, ash gourd at Tk 25 to 30 piece, coriander leaves at Tk 100 kg, capsicum (red) at Tk 300 kg and capsicum (green) at Tk 250 to 300 kg.
Local onion was selling at Tk 35 per kg while imported onion was selling at Tk 28 to Tk 30, imported garlic at Tk 200, local garlic at Tk 90 to 100 per kg, imported ginger at Tk 80 to 90 per kg,
and while the locally produced ginger was selling at Tk 70 to 75 kg based on quality.
As for fish, Olive Barb (puti) at Tk 250 to Tk 350 kg, Kholisa at Tk 250, Chapila at Tk 400, cultivated koi at Tk 200 to 220 per kg and koi (river) at Tk 600. Fali Chanda (Rupchada) at Tk 1100 kg, Chanda (small) at Tk 200 kg, walking fish (Shoal) at Tk 300 kg, Eel at Tk 300 to 600 kg, Meni at Tk 350 kg, Sheat (boal) at Tk 350 to 800 kg, Ek-thota (Kaitta fish) at Tk 350 to Tk 400, Bele (Baila) at Tk 400 to 600 kg, Coral Fish at Tk 550 kg, river Pangas at Tk 300 kg, cultivated Pangas at Tk 130 kg, Rajputi at Tk300 kg, Tilapia at Tk 140 to Tk 200 kg, Ruhit at Tk 250 to Tk 350 kg, medium size carp (katol) at Tk 230 -260 a kg, big size katol at Tk 300 kg, local variety of Cat fish (Shing) at Tk 400-500 a kg, barbel at Tk 700 kg, lobster at Tk 500 to 700 kg, and shrimp (River) at Tk 300-400 kg.
Two piece of Hilsha weighing about 700 grams were selling at Tk1200 at Karwan Bazar, dry fish (loitta) at Tk 500 per kg, Mola at Tk700, Corica Suborna (kachki) at Tk 600, and river shrimp at Tk700 per kg.
Beef was selling for Tk 380 to 400 per kg at Khilgaon and the red meat at Tk 550 to 600. The egg (farm) was selling at Tk 35 per hali (4 pieces), egg (local) at Tk 50 and egg (duck) at Tk 45 to Tk 48. Pigeon (per pair) was selling at Tk180 to Tk 250 and four koil birds at Tk 200 based on size.
Five liters of Rupchanda brand canned soybean oil was selling at Tk 485, Rupchanda (two litres) at Tk 188, loose super palm oil at 78 per liter, sugar price at Tk 48 to 50 per kg and molasses at Tk 70 to 120 and flattened rice at Tk 70 to 90.  
The red lentil was selling at Tk 130 per kg, while the imported item (coarse variety) was selling at Tk 115 kg over the week, mash at 110 per kg.
The coarse rice was selling in retail at Tk 32 to 34 per kg, Pyjam at Tk 40 to 42 kg, Nazirshail brand of rice at Tk 46 to 52 kg, Minicate at Tk 44- 50 kg, Kattari bhog at Tk 75, Pillau rice (Badsha bhog) at Tk 90 to 120 kg and Kalijira at Tk 115 to 130 kg only. Coarse flour was selling at Tk40 per kg and a 2-kg packet at Tk 75.
