From theatre group Dhaka Theatre their friendship began. From that calculation we can assume that Suborna Mustafa and Raisul Islam Asad’s friendship has already crossed four decades.
Under common group they not only enthralled theatre stages but also entertained the viewers in many TV plays and serials. They also paired up in films.
In 1980, as a pair, Suborna and Asad for the first time worked in Salauddin Jaki’s movie Ghuddi. Their outstanding performances attracted the viewers. Later they again worked together in Syed Hasan Imam’s Lal Sabujer Pala, Kazi Zahir’s Notun Bou, in 1984 under Kajol Arefin’s direction in Suruj Mia and Belal Ahmed’s Noyon-er Alo. Then they did not see to work together in any other movie.
After a break of long 32 years, Suborna and Asad are going to work in a movie titled Gohin Baluchar, which will made by Badrul Anam Soud. Soud has also written its story, script and dialogue. Both Suborna and Asad are very much excited to work together again in big screen. Both of them will act in roles of two leading members of two families in the movie. Asad and Suborna will act in roles of Latif and Asma.
While sharing his feelings to work with his yesteryears friend the National Film Award winner actor Asad told this correspondent, “From three to four years of the Liberation War to till date we have a good friendship. I always think we are still in early days. I always feel we are in a common family. We have a better understanding due to long time working together experiences. I believe Soud’s movie will be good one.”
Suborna shared her feelings by this way, “In TV screen, viewers watched us together as pair in many telefilms and plays. I hope after a long time our journey will become a successful one. Shooting of the movie will kick off in December.”
Asad informed that he is now in Bhola where he is taking part in shooting of Nader Chowdhury’s movie Meyeti Ekhon Kothai Jabe.
