Staff Reporter Mymensingh :
20 students of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Mymensingh Engineering College to lunch the first rocket in Bangladesh . After 5 years of continuous research, the research team completed the final phase of the research and after making 4 rockets called “Dhumketu”, the launch of the rocket is now just waiting for approval.
The research team said that although the weather data could be collected initially, the rocket could later be used in space research including satellites. The research team thinks that it is possible to open new doors of research in the country with the support of the government. This was the result of 5 years of tireless research.
At the initiative of Naheyan Al Rahman, a former student of Mymensingh Engineering College, a team of 20 Alpha Science Labs made 4 rockets weighting 100 kg after final research. Initially, the rocket is capable of taking weather data at an altitude of 50 km. Naheyan, the head of the comet rocket team, said he had to burn a lot of wood to discover the rocket in his own research without any kind of patronage. Founder and team leader Naheyan Al Rahman said, they have reached this stage after going through many ups and downs. As there is no department of rocket science in the country, it is difficult to collect research information and textbooks from outside the country on private initiative, said the members of the research team. With the government’s patronage, they think that new innovations are possible in the country’s soil as well as in space research.
They lacked support, said members of the research team. With patronage, it is possible to successfully complete any research in Bangladesh, not just rocket science. Now we are thinking of publishing a research paper on the subject in an international journal.
Mymensingh City Mayor Ekramul Haque Titu assures to patronize the development of information technology and research. He also hopes that the government will take necessary steps in this regard.
