Students of BAU Animal Husbandry Faculty stage demo

Students of animal husbandry faculty of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on Thursday boycotted all classes and exams staged demonstration on three point demands.
Their demands including up gradation of their course curriculum, implementation of proposed organogram for their graduates in department livestock services and also re-arrangement the faculty sequence in order to university’s statues.
On Thursday at around 11.30 am students staged sit-in in front of Administrative building and stayed there for four hours, demanding their three point demands.
Teachers of the faculty also supported to the students. Earlier, they brought out a procession which marched on the campus.
They gave an ultimatum to the authority to call academic council meeting and implementation their demand immediately.
They also warned the authority for tougher action if their demands are not met.
Later, teachers and students of the faculty gave a memorandum to BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Ali Akbar. And later at around 03.30 pm they withdraw their demonstrations as VC told them that he will try to solve their issue as soon as possible.
In this connection, dean of the animal husbandry faculty Prof Dr Jasimuddin Khan said, on last academic council meeting which held on 23th January, all the issues of that meeting were implemented except our course curriculum up gradation issue.
So, we made the decision to boycott classes and exams for implementation for our demand.
