JS body asks for list of shopowners of Gulistan Complex

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Liberation War Affairs Ministry on Sunday suggested the government to cooperate with the subcommittee formed to recover illegally occupied shops of Gulistan Shopping Complex in the capital.
It also recommended providing lists of shop owners of the complex, which is under the management of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Welfare Trust, to the subcommittee and other members of the parliamentary standing committee.
The suggestions came from the committee’s 5th meeting held at the Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Capt (retd) AB Tajul Islam in the chair.
Committee members-Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq, M Afsarul Amin, Nurunnabi Chowdhury, Shawpan Bhattacharjee and Kamrul Laila Jolly-attended the meeting.
Liberation War Affairs Secretary, Managing Director of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Welfare Trust, and Director General of Jatiya Muktijoddha Council, were among others, present, said a handout.
Earlier, on August 28, the parliamentary committee at its 4th meeting suggested recovering 343 shops of Gulistan Complex from illegal occupants and formed a three-member sub-committee led by Nurunnabi Chowdhury to work to this effect.
