A student was killed and 16 others were injured in a road accident on Hargoja Road under Lama upazila of the district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Miju Marma, 13, a student of class eight.
Police said the accident occurred when a Chaderjeep (locally made vehicle) carrying some students turned turtle in the area as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving Miju dead on the spot and 16 others injured.
The injured were sent to Dulhajra Missionary Hospital.
A case was filed with Lama Police Station in this connection.
