Building of stronger family bonds on the basis of love, affection and friendly relations between children and parents has become imperative to eliminate militancy, terrorism and drug abuse from society.
Discussants expressed the view at a rally organised by regional committee of Helal Press Community Policing Unit of Wards No-28 against drug abuse, terrorism and militancy in the city on Wednesday night.
Police Super Mizanur Rahman addressed the rally as the chief guest with president of City Community Policing Unit and councilor of Ward No-28 Idris Ali in the chair.
Assistant Police Super (Circle-A) Saifur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Thana ABM Zahidul Islam and member-secretary of the district and divisional coordination committees of Community Policing Shushanto Bhowmick addressed as special guests.
More than 1,000 people including students and teachers, members of
community policing units, public representatives, civil society members, socio-cultural, professional and political activists and elite attended the rally.
The speakers expressed satisfaction over continuous improvement of the law and order situation in the city and suggested gearing up activities of the community policing at all levels to ensure peace and tranquility in society.
Shushanto Bhowmick called upon members of the community policing of different units for involving the common people and extending cooperation to the police forces in preventing drug abuse, terrorism, militancy and corruption. “Coordinated efforts of the family members, common people and police could eliminate the social ills like terrorism, militancy and drug abuse, in establishing lasting peace and tranquility in society,” he said.
The chief guest put emphasis on strengthening the bonds and relations among the family members, including children and parents, so that no young child or youth could be derailed and involved with militant and terrorist activities.

Another report adds: Bangladesh has been marching on its way to attain the sustainable development goals (SDGs) after achieving tremendous development to become a role model in upgrading life standard of the common people.
The opinion came at a discussion followed by women rally, screening of documentary films and cultural function organised by the District Information Office (DIO) at Pirganj Women Degree College under Pirganj upazila here on Wednesday night.
The DIO organised the discussion to inform the common people about the 10 special development initiatives of the prime minister, successes achieved by the government and its future development plans to further speed up national development.
